THE MISSION OF GLOBAL LIVINGSTON INSTITUTE IS TO EDUCATE STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS ON INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

IN 2021, GLI ENGAGED HUNDREDS OF INDIVIDUALS IN VIRTUAL INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES WITH INDIVIDUALS FROM UGANDA AND RWANDA, EMPLOYED MORE THAN 30 UGANDANS DIRECTLY AND PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE TO MANY MORE, TRAINED HUNDREDS OF UGANDANS IN BEST PRACTICES IN AGRICULTURE AND INCOME IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES, PLANNED AND EXECUTED A VIRTUAL HIV/PUBLIC HEALTH AWARENESS CONCERT IN UGANDA FOR WORLD AIDS DAY WHERE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE RECEIVED FREE HEALTH SERVICES, ENGAGED APPROXIMATELY 2,500 US STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS THROUGH VIRTUAL RESEARCH SUMMITS, UNIVERSITY COURSES, AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE. WE HOSTED NEARLY 40 YOUTH FROM THE UNITED STATES AND AFRICA AT GLI'S ANNUAL YOUTH SUMMIT WHICH WAS HELD VIRTUALLY IN 2021. WE ALSO HOSTED A VIRTUAL WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP RETREAT AND RECYCLED ONE METRIC TON OF PLASTIC FROM THE ENVIRONMENT IN UGANDA PER MONTH. IN 2021, GLI RAISED $342,500 FOR THE REMODEL OT THE ENTUSI RESORT AND RETREAT CENTER SET TO TAKE PLACE IN 2022. THESE RESTRICTED FUNDS ARE REFLECTED AS REVENUE IN 2021.
