DISASTER RELIEF IN 2020, A SEVERE STORM CALLED A DERECHO HIT EASTERN IOWA. FOLLOWING THIS FEDERALLY DECLARED DISASTER, OUR ORGANIZATION PROVIDED VARIOUS SERVICES TO ASSIST THOSE IN NEED, INCLUDING: - PROVIDING HOT MEALS TO THOSE WITHOUT POWER - PARTNERING WITH AN ELECTRIC COMPANY TO ASSIST FAMILIES IN GETTING THEIR ELECTRICITY TURNED BACK ON - PARTNERING WITH A HARDWARE STORE TO OFFER A CHAINSAW LEASE PROGRAM - PARTNERING WITH A LOCAL NON-PROFIT TO PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR THOSE EXPERIENCING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES FOLLOWING THE STORM.
GENERAL COMMUNITY SPEND NOT TIED DIRECTLY TO A PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED PROGRAM.
OPERATION GIVE BIRDS - THIS IS OUR ANNUAL FLAGSHIP EVENT. IN 2020, WE PROVIDED FULL THANKSGIVING MEALS TO 800+ FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY.
COVID RELIEF - THROUGHOUT 2020, WE DONATED MONEY, SUPPLIES AND ACTIVITIES/GAMES TO VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS AND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS A CHURCH, A HOMELESS SHELTER, AND THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB.
