TO PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE SET OF SERVICES DESIGNED TO ENABLE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES TO EXERCISE CONTROL OVER THIER LIVES BASED ON THEIR CHOICES OF ACCEPTABLE OPTIONS THAT MINIMIZE THIER RELIANCE ON OTHER PEOPLE IN MAKING DECISIONS AND IN PERFORMING EVERYDAY ACTIVITIES. THIS INCLUDES MANAGING THEIR AFFAIRS, FULFILLING THE RANGE OF SOCIAL ROLES, MAKING DECISIONS THAT LEAD TO SELF-DETERMINATION, AND MINIMIZING THIER PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL DEPENDENCE ON OTHERS. OUR CENTER ALWAYS STRESSES THAT INDEPENDENCE IS NOT A MATTER OF ABILITY OR LIMITATIONS, BUT IS INSTEAD A MATTER OF MAKING EDUCATED CHOICES.
