IN 2021, MY BAG MY STORY PARTNERED WITH 19 FOSTER AGENCIES IN THE MIDDLE TENNESSEE AREA TO PROVIDE DUFFLE BAGS AND BACKPACKS TO CHILDREN IN THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM. WE HAVE DESIGNATED VOLUNTEERS THAT REPRESENT EACH AGENCY. WHEN THAT AGENCY NEEDS ADDITIONAL BAGS, THEY CONTACT THAT VOLUNTEER TO GATHER THEIR BAGS AND DELIVER TO THEM. AFTER THE BAGS ARE DONATED, WE ASKED THAT THE AGENCY PROVIDE DETAILS ON THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF THE CHILDREN SERVED. WE HAVE A BOARD MEMBER THAT SERVES AS THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR THAT TRACKS THE BAGS DONATED TO OUR PARTNER AGENCIES. IN 2022, WE PROVIDED 618 BAGS TO FOSTER CHILDREN. THIS WAS A 62% INCREASE FROM 2021.
