ON MAY 18, 2022, ACT TO CHANGE HOST ITS 4TH ANNUAL NATIONAL AAPI DAY AGAINST BULLYING+HATE WITH THE SUPPORT OF MUNICIPALITIES, ELECTED OFFICIALS AND PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS. THE DAY WAS CHOSEN TO HONOR THE BIRTHDAY OF VINCENT CHIN, WHOSE MURDER IN A HATE CRIME IN 1982 SPARKED A NATIONAL UPRISING. THERE WAS AN ONLINE VIRTUAL CELEBRATION AND AN IN-PERSON COMMUNITY RECEPTION.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TWO NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS - STOP AAPI HATE AND HATE IS A VIRUS - ACT TO CHANGE HELD ITS 4TH ANNUAL ANTI-BULLYING YOUTH CONFERENCE IN RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH. THE CONFERENCE WAS HELD VIRTUALLY.


ACT TO CHANGE'S YOUTH AMBASSADORS PROGRAM (YAP) ENGAGES AND EMPOWERS ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER (AAPI) YOUTH BY PROVIDING THEM THE RESOURCES AND TOOLS THEY NEED TO END BULLYING IN THEIR COMMUNITIES THROUGH MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS, DIVERSIFICATION OF LIBRARIES, AND FACULTY AND SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR ENGAGEMENT.
