DURING THE 2022/2023 PROGRAM YEAR AT BARNACLES & BEES, WE HELD TWO PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS AT ILLAHEE STATE PARK IN BREMERTON, WA FOR CHILDREN AGES 3-6. WE ALSO RAN TWO PROGRAMS FOR PRESCHOOL AND GRADE SCHOOL CHILDREN AT THE WETLANDS IN BELFAIR, WA SERVING CHILDREN AGES 3 TO 8. ADDITIONALLY, WE RAN AN AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM FOR ELEMENTARY AGED CHILDREN AT ARMIN JAHR ELEMENTARY IN BREMERTON, WA. WE CONTINUED OFFERING FREE FAMILY NATURE PLAY CLASSES AT VARIOUS PARKS THROUGHOUT KITSAP COUNTY. THE CLASSES WERE OPEN TO CHILDREN (AGES 0-5) AS WELL AS OPEN TO THE WHOLE FAMILY. THE FOCUS WAS ON EMERGENT-BASED LEARNING IN THE OUTDOORS THROUGH PLAY, SONG, HIKES, AND SCIENTIFIC OBSERVATION. THROUGH THE 9 CLASSES OFFERED SUMMER, FALL AND SPRING 2022-2023 WE SERVED 101 FAMILIES. OUR PROGRAMS AIM TO SERVE FAMILIES IN THE AREA WHO ARE INTERESTED IN AND VALUE OUTDOOR LEARNING, NATURE CONNECTIONS, AND COMMUNITY BUILDING.
