ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE UNITS: EARTHGEN'S SCIENCE UNITS HELP TEACHERS INCREASE STUDENTS ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY AND BUILD THEIR CRITICAL THINKING, COLLABORATION, AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS IN CULTURALLY RELEVANT WAYS. ONE EXAMPLE IS "ZOMBIE GUACAMOLE," A SERIES OF HANDS-ON LESSONS IN WHICH STUDENTS EXPLORE THE FOOD SYSTEM AND ITS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS. OTHER UNITS, INCLUDING "ENERGY MATTERS AND "BREATHING EASIER" ENGAGE STUDENTS IN LEARNING AND ACTION PROJECTS THAT ADDRESS LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES.
GREEN SCHOOLS CERTIFICATION: THE SCHOOLS CERTIFICATION PROGRAM SUPPORTS STUDENTS TO LEAD ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION PROJECTS IN THEIR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES.
