ARTS & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: AT THE HEART OF OUR WORK ARE THE VOICES OF THE COMMUNITY THAT WE REPRESENT. HWC PROVIDES OUTLETS FOR SERVICE IN OUR COMMUNITY AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR COMMUNITY TO SPEAK TO THE WORLD. THE CELEBRATION OF JUNETEENTH, THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS, ARTS PROJECTS, SPORTS EVENTS, AND YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AND MORE ARE HOW WE SHOW UP IN THE COMMUNITY AND HOW OUR COMMUNITY SHOWS IN US.
HOUSING: SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY NEEDS IN HOUSING, FROM RENTAL ASSISTANCE TO HOMEOWNERSHIP. "HOMELESS TO HOMEOWNERSHIP" IS A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ADJUST TO THE NEEDS OF THE PARTICIPANT. THIS YEAR ALSO INTRODUCED RASHAD'S HOUSE, A MALE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM FOR MEN NEEDING HOUSING OPTIONS THAT ARE SUPPORTIVE OF A NEW DIRECTION ALONG THEIR LIFE JOURNEY.
GENERAL CRISIS AND SUPPORT: WE ALL NEED HELP SOMETIMES AND THROUGH SMALL BITS OF HELP SUCH AS GAS CARDS, FOOD CARDS, BUS PASSES, RENTAL ASSISTANCE, CAR MAINTENANCE, AND MORE WE HELP A COMMUNITY STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE TO MAKE IT ANOTHER DAY. WE SEARCH FOR RESOURCES THAT ALREADY EXIST BUT THERE ARE CASES WHERE THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO TURN. OUR GENERAL CRISIS FUND IS SET UP TO ADDRESS THE DIREST OF NEEDS IN THE WORST OF TIMES.
