MACROSTIE ART CENTER'S MISSION IS TO INSPIRE A CREATIVE COMMUNITY. MAC OPERATES A COMMUNITY ART CENTER TO SUPPORT LOCAL AND REGIONAL ARTISTS, PROVIDES ART EDUCATION FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, AND PROMOTES AWARENESS OF THE ARTS IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA.

IN 2021, MACROSTIE ART CENTER'S EXHIBITION PROGRAM PRESENTED 27 EXHIBITIONS AND HELD 8 FIRST FRIDAY OPENING RECEPTIONS AS PART OF A MONTHLY COMMUNITY-WIDE ART WALK. MAC ALSO HOSTED 9 ARTIST TALKS - 3 IN-PERSON AND 6 ONLINE. IN ITS EDUCATION PROGRAM, MAC OFFERED 20 ADULT ART CLASSES AND 19 YOUTH ART CLASSES, HELD 8 FREE FAMILY DAYS, AND DISTRIBUTED OVER 500 FREE ART KITS TO AREA YOUTH OVER THE SPRING AND SUMMER. IN SUPPORT OF THE LOCAL ARTS ECONOMY, MAC HOSTED THE DOWNTOWN ART FAIR WITH 25 ARTIST VENDORS AND SOLD ARTWORK FOR OVER 100 DIFFERENT ARTISTS THROUGH OUR STOREFRONT AND ONLINE ART SHOP.
