MACROSTIE ART CENTER'S MISSION IS TO INSPIRE A CREATIVE COMMUNITY. MAC OPERATES A COMMUNITY ART CENTER TO SUPPORT LOCAL AND REGIONAL ARTISTS, PROVIDES ART EDUCATION FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, AND PROMOTES AWARENESS OF THE ARTS IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA.

IN 2022, MACROSTIE ART CENTER'S EXHIBITION PROGRAM PRESENTED 23 EXHIBITIONS AND HELD 12 FIRST FRIDAY OPENING RECEPTIONS AS PART OF A MONTHLY COMMUNITY-WIDE ART WALK. MAC ALSO HOSTED 12 COMMUNITY EVENTS IN ITS NEW GIINAWIND CREATIVE SPACE INCLUDING ARTIST TALKS, FILM SCREENINGS, AND MUSICAL PERFORMANCES. IN ITS EDUCATION PROGRAM, MAC OFFERED 47 ADULT ART CLASSES AND 27 YOUTH ART CLASSES, HELD 10 FREE FAMILY DAYS, AND HOSTED 12 FIELD TRIPS FROM LOCAL SCHOOLS. IN SUPPORT OF THE LOCAL ARTS ECONOMY, MAC HELD THE DOWNTOWN ART FAIR WITH 32 ARTIST VENDORS AND SOLD ARTWORK FOR OVER 100 DIFFERENT ARTISTS THROUGH OUR STOREFRONT AND ONLINE ART SHOP.
