GPSED CONTINUES TO PROVIDE ADVANCED YOUTH APPRENTICESHIPS AND ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS THROUGH OUR 7 EDUCATION CENTERS LOCATED THROUGHOUT SOUTHEAST AND NORTHEAST WISCONSIN. WITH AN AVERAGE ANNUAL ENROLLMENT OF 200 STUDENTS, THIS TRANSFORMATIONAL PROGRAM ALLOWS STUDENTS TO EARN THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA FROM THEIR HOME HIGH SCHOOL WHILE ALSO EARNING STACKABLE AND TRANSFERABLE CREDENTIALS ALIGNED TO TECHNICAL CAREER PATHWAYS. THE CLASS OF 2021 BOASTS A 95% GRADUATION RATE WITH 95% EARNING THEIR NATIONAL CAREER READINESS CERTIFICATION, 94% EARNING MANUFACTURING SKILL STANDARDS COUNCIL (MSSC) CERTIFICATION, AND ON AVERAGE, 93% OF OUR GRADUATES EARN THEIR YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP CERTIFICATE BY COMPLETING A SKILLS CHECKLIST FROM THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT. MANY GRADUATES WHO PLAN TO GO ON TO POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION ALSO EARN COLLEGE CREDITS. IT IS WORTH NOTING THAT THE MAJORITY OF OUR STUDENTS HAD TO OVERCOME SEVERE ACADEMIC DEFICIENCIES AND GAINED VALUABLE SOFT-SKILLS THAT ARE NEEDED TO SECURE GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT. DESPITE THE CHALLENGES OF COVID-19, GPSED NOT ONLY RETAINED BUT WE GAINED BUSINESS PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS THAT WILL PROVIDE EVEN MORE CAREER PATHWAYS TO MORE STUDENTS. IN ADDITION, GPSED HAS LAUNCHED 2 COMMUNITY-BASED ENGAGEMENTS OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF WISCONSIN TO SCALE WORK-BASED LEARNING IN DUPPAGE [COUNTY], IL AND HENNEPIN [COUNTY], MN. FURTHER GEOGRAPHIC EXPANSIONS WILL BEGIN THIS YEAR IN 3 ADDITIONAL STATES WITH A DEDICATED TEAM OF EXPERTS TO SUPPORT THIS WORK.
