THE PURPOSE OF CREEKSIDE PTO, INC. ("PTO") IS TO IMPROVE THE WELFARE AND EDUCATION OF THE STUDENTS ATTENDING CREEKSIDE CHARTER SCHOOL ("CREEKSIDE"), A CALIFORNIA PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL, 1916 CHAMONIX PLACE, OLYMPIC VALLEY, CALIFORNIA.IN PARTICULAR, THE PTO:A. PROVIDES FUNDS THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR EDUCATION IN SUBJECTS THAT ARE DEEMED APPROPRIATE BY THE PTO. B. PROVIDES FUNDS FOR EDUCATIONAL EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS, SUPPLIES, AND RELATED ITEMS THAT WILL ASSIST IN THE STUDENTS' EDUCATION AND LEARNING.C. ENCOURAGES A CLOSER AND MORE EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE STUDENTS, PARENTS, TEACHERS AND STAFF OF CREEKSIDE.D. INFORMS PARENTS OF THE ISSUES, PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES OF CREEKSIDE.E. THE PTO PROVIDES FUNDS FOR INDEPENDENTLY CONTRACTED TEACHERS (FORMS 1099-NEC ISSUED) TO SUPPLEMENT THE EDUCATION OF CREEKSIDE STUDENTS, INCLUDING INSTRUCTION IN SPANISH, ARTS & CRAFTS, SCIENCE PROJECTS, WORKSHOPS, ASSEMBLIES AND CAMPS FOR DEVELOPING IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS, COMMUNICATION AND SPEAKING SKILLS, SELF-ESTEEM AND SOCIAL AWARENESS.


CREEKSIDE PTO SPONSORED PIZZA THURSDAYS WHERE ALL STUDENTS COULD ENJOY PIZZA FOR LUNCH ONCE A WEEK. THE PIZZAS WERE PROVIDED AT A DISCOUNT BY A LOCAL RESTAURANT AND ANY NET PROFIT FROM THE ARRANGEMENT BENEFITED THE CREEKSIDE PTO GENERAL FUND.


FIELD TRIPS WERE TAKEN BY STUDENTS TO WASHINGTON DC ALONG WITH A 6TH GRADE BACKPACKING TRIP.
