CHALLENGE DAY IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO BUILDING EMPATHY AND COMPASSION IN OUR COMMUNITIES. WE HELP YOUTH AND ADULTS UNLEARN HARMFUL HABITS, EXPERIENCE VULNERABILITY AS A PILLAR TO RESTORE STRENGTH, AND EXPERIENCE THE FREEDOM OF FULL EXPRESSION THROUGH THE LENS OF COMPASSION, CONNECTION, AND DIVERSITY. IN THE PAST 5 YEARS WE HAVE SUPPORTED 300,000 STUDENTS AND 60,000 ADULTS DIRECTLY.

CHALLENGE DAY PROVIDES YOUTH AND THEIR COMMUNITIES WITH EXPERIENTIAL WORKSHOPS AND PROGRAMS THAT IMPROVE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY CLIMATE, POSITIVELY INFLUENCE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT, STRENGTHEN CROSS CULTURAL CONNECTIONS, AND REDUCE CONFLICT AND BULLYING. CHALLENGE DAY HAS BEEN FEATURED ON THE OPRAH TV SHOW, IN A TOM BROKAW 2010 DOCUMENTARY BRIDGING THE DIVIDE, AND IN A 12-EPISODE MTV SERIES TITLED IF YOU REALLY KNEW ME.IN 2019-20, CHALLENGE DAY SERVED MORE THAN 85,000 PARTICIPANTS IN 523 SCHOOLS AND ORGANIZATIONS. SINCE 1987, WE HAVE PRESENTED THE PROGRAM TO MORE THAN 1 MILLION TEENAGERS IN 2,200 SCHOOLS. CHALLENGE DAY ALSO PROVIDES COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS, TEAM-BUILDING PROGRAMS FOR WORKPLACES, AND KEYNOTES AND CONFERENCE SESSIONS.CHALLENGE DAY HAS BEEN SERVING TEENS IN SCHOOLS AROUND THE WORLD SINCE 1987 WHEN THE PROGRAM WAS CREATED BY FOUNDERS YVONNE AND RICH DUTRA-ST. JOHN. THE ORGANIZATION SERVES TEENS FROM EVERY GENDER IDENTITY, RACE, ETHNICITY, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RELIGIOUS BACKGROUND, AND SOCIOECONOMIC LEVEL. PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN PRESENTED IN 49 U.S. STATES AND REPLICATED INTERNATIONALLY INCLUDING CANADA, JAPAN, THE CZECH REPUBLIC, GERMANY, AUSTRALIA, BELGIUM, AND UGANDA.
