THE JOY OF GIVING PROGRAM WAS INSPIRED BY THE LATE PASTOR GREG POWE, SR. JOY OF GIVING WAS STARTED IN 2009 AS A WAY TO SPREAD JOY TO ALL CHILDREN IN OUR MOST STRUGGLING COMMUNITIES. WITH PASTOR POWE'S BLESSING, THADDEUS BULLARD, AKA WWE SUPERSTAR TITUS O'NEIL, GREW THE EVENT TO WHAT IT IS TODAY: A MOVEMENT TO INSPIRE COMPANIES TO GIVE BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITIES; AN EFFORT TO CONNECT FAMILIES WITH IMPORTANT NONPROFIT SUPPORT SERVICES; AND A GIFT-GIVING CELEBRATION THAT PROVIDES MOMENTS THAT CHANGE LIVES.
THE BACK TO SCHOOL BASH WAS FOUNDED BY THADDEUS BULLARD, AKA WWE SUPERSTAR TITUS O'NEIL. PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN THE BULLARD FAMILY FOUNDATION, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS, ADVENT HEALTH, THE HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND MORE THAN 60 COMPANIES AND NONPROFIT AGENCIES ENSURE CHILDREN START THE SCHOOL YEAR PREPARED. THE EVENT PROVIDES CHILDREN IN OUR MOST STRUGGLING COMMUNITIES WITH SERVICES LIKE HAIRCUTS, PHYSICALS AND EYE EXAMS AND PROVIDES BACKPACKS FILLED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES. THE INAUGURAL EVENT IN 2018 DREW 30,000 PEOPLE. MORE THAN 15,000 CHILDREN RECEIVED FREE BACKPACKS WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES.
THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDE DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO OTHER NON-PROFITS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHO'S MISSION AND PURPOSE IS ALSO ALIGNED WITH THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, THE BULLARD FAMILY FOUNDATION IS DEVELOPING A FINANCIAL PROSPERITY CENTER FOR THE SLIGH NEIGHBORHOOD, LOCATED IN THE 300 BUILDING AT SLIGH MIDDLE SCHOOL, 2011 E. SLIGH AVE., TAMPA, FL 33610. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION HAS COMMITTED RESOURCES TO PROVIDING SUPPORTS TO THE FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS THAT INCLUDES SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMMING AND AN AFTER-SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY AND CODING CLUB AND AN ART CLUB. BULLARD FAMILY FOUNDATION HONORED LOCAL MOTHERS AT A DINNER TO CELEBRATE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FAMILY AND THE OVERALL COMMUNITY. THADDEUS BULLARD AKA WWE GLOBAL AMBASSADOR TITUS O'NEIL AND ACTOR DAVE BAUTISTA BROUGHT THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER FOR A WALK IN UNITY. THIS LOVE WALK TOOK PLACE AS RACIAL TENSIONS ROSE ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN THE AFTERMATH OF GEORGE FLOYD. AS WELL AS OTHER EXPENSES THAT ARE UTILIZED BY ALL THE PROGRAMS THAT ARE NOT OVERHEAD IN NATURE.
