A COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER AND A WINTER-ONLY OVERNIGHT EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR SALINA. OUR MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AND STRENGTHEN THE SALINA COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING A WARM, SAFE EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR MEN, WOMEN, AND FAMILIES AS A SAFETY NET FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT STAY AT EITHER ASHBY HOUSE OR SALINA RESCUE MISSION.

WINTER SHELTER - DURING THE WINTER SEASON, WE PROVIDED A SAFE, WARM SHELTER TO 72 MEN, 33 WOMEN AND 4 KIDS. WE PROVIDED 2,350 BOTTLES OF WATER, 1,071 WALKING BREAKFASTS, OVER 200 ITEMS OF CLOTHING AND 73 HYGIENE PRODUCTS. OF THOSE SERVED: 20 WERE VICTIMS OF SEX TRAFFICKING, 14 WERE ON SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME, 24 WERE VETERANS, 35 WERE STRUGGLING WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, AND 75 ADMITTED STRUGGLES WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE. IN TOTAL, WE PROVIDED 1,798 NIGHTS OF SHELTER. WITH THE OPENING OF THE COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER, WE WERE ABLE TO ASSIST MANY TO ENGAGE IN GREATER SERVICES AND SAW MANY GET INTO EITHER A MORE LONG-TERM SHELTER OR HOUSING PROGRAM.


COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER - OPENED IN JANUARY 2022. AT THE CRC, INDIVIDUALS RECEIVE ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE TO ACCESS THE SERVICES THEY NEED, SUCH AS FOOD, SHELTER, MEDICAL, ADDICTION TREATMENT, MENTAL HEALTH, ETC. THE CRC IS ALSO A DAY SHELTER WHERE INDIVIDUALS ARE SERVED LUNCH AND HAVE ACCESSS TO TECHNOLOGY TO APPLY FOR JOBS AND ATTEND TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS. THE CRC HAS SPACE FOR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO COME IN AND MEET WITH CLIENTS. CASE MANAGERS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS IN GETTING THE HELP THEY NEED.
