PROVIDE TEMPORARY HOUSING AND ASSISTANCE TO HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS IN THE LINCOLN, NEBRASKA AREA.

HOMELESS PREVENTION CENTER:PRIMARY RECEIVING, SORTING, AND DISTRIBUTION POINT FOR FREE FOOD, CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, FURNITURE, TOYS, AND PERSONAL CARE ITEMS.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE A FAMILY AND WOMEN'S SHELTER AND A TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM. THE FAMILY AND WOMEN'S SHELTER PROVIDES A SAFE AND SECURE LIVING ENVIRONMENT FOR WOMEN, CHILDREN, AND FAMILIES NEEDING ASSISTANCE. THE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM FOR MEN AND WOMEN INCLUDES PRIVATE SLEEPING ROOMS EQUIPPED WITH A REFRIGERATOR, MICROWAVE AND SINK. OTHER AMENITIES INCLUDE LAUNDRY FACILITIES, A COMMUNITY LOUNGE, A LIBRARY, COURTYARDS, AND 24-HOUR STAFF. RESIDENTS MUST BE ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM AND THE MAXIMUM STAY IS 24 MONTHS.


RECYCLING:PROGRAM IN WHICH GOODS FROM HOUSEHOLDS ARE TAKEN AND SOLD TO PURCHASERS IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES WHICH ARE THEN EITHER GIVEN AWAY OR SOLD IN THRIFT STORES IN THOSE COUNTRIES.


MEN'S SHELTER:THE MEN'S TEMPORARY HOUSING IS DEDICATED TO THE NEEDS OF HOMELESS MEN EXPERIENCING SOME FORM OF PERSONAL CRISIS.
