TO STRENGTHEN THE MATHEMATICAL PREPARATION OF ALL STUDENTS BY SUPPORTING AND EXPANDING THE COMMUNITY OF TEACHER-PRACTITIONERS AT THE PRE-COLLEGE, UNDERGRADUATE, AND GRADUATE LEVELS ENGAGED IN LEARNING BY INQUIRY.

CO-HOST A NATIONAL CONFERENCE TO EXPAND THE COMMUNITY OF TEACHER PRACTITIONERS OF INQUIRY BASED LEARNING (IBL) IN THE CLASSROOM. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE INTRODUCTORY SESSIONS FOR NOVICE IBL PRACTIONERS, WORKING GROUPS TO EXPLORE CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATIONS, DISCUSSION OF THE MATHEMATICAL ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA'S NEWLY RELEASED INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICE GUIDE, AND OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPERIENCE MODEL IBL CLASSROOMS.


AS PART OF ITS ON-GOING ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER RESEARCH IN UNDERGRADUATE MATHEMATICS EDUCATION AND THE DISSEMINATION OF SUCH RESEARCH, THE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP OF THE MATHEMATICAL ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA ON RESEARCH IN UNDERGRADUATE MATHEMATICS EDUCATION (SIGMAA ON RUME) PRESENTS ITS TWENTY-FIRST CONFERENCE ON RESEARCH IN UNDERGRADUATE MATHEMATICS EDUCATION (RUME).THE CONFERENCE IS A FORUM FOR RESEARCHERS IN COLLEGIATE MATHEMATICS EDUCATION TO SHARE RESULTS OF RESEARCH ADDRESSING ISSUES PERTINENT TO THE LEARNING AND TEACHING OF UNDERGRADUATE MATHEMATICS. THE CONFERENCE IS ORGANIZED AROUND THE FOLLOWING THEMES: RESULTS OF CURRENT RESEARCH, CONTEMPORARY THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES AND RESEARCH PARADIGMS, AND INNOVATIVE METHODOLOGIES AND ANALYTIC APPROACHES AS THEY PERTAIN TO THE STUDY OF UNDERGRADUATE MATHEMATICS EDUCATION. THE PROGRAM WILL INCLUDE PLENARY ADDRESSES, CONTRIBUTED PAPER SESSIONS, AND PRELIMINARY PAPER SESSIONS.


IMLI JOINED TOGETHER WITH TEXAS A&M-SAN ANTONIO TO COLLABORATE ON DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING A QUALITY ENHANCEMENT PLAN (QEP) FOR "QUANTITATIVE LITERACY ACROSS THE CURRICULUM" ON THE A&M-SA CAMPUS.


PARTICIPATION IN 100KIN10, A NATIONAL NETWORK COORDINATING AND ACCELERATING EFFORTS TO BRING 100,000 NEW EXCELLENT SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH (STEM) TEACHERS INTO SCHOOLS BY 2021,
