TACT IS A DENVER BASED 501(C)(3)NON PROFIT THAT TEACHES TRADE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS TO INDIVIDUALS AGES 5-30 WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD). WITH A FOCUS ON TRADE PROFESSIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS, TACT OFFERS THE ONLY PROGRAM OF ITS KIND IN THE COUNTRY. THROUGH ITS IMMERSIVE, HANDS ON VOCATIONAL TRAINING, TACT PREPARES YOUNG INDIVIDUALS WITH ASD-WHO NOW REPRESENT ONE IN 59 CHILDREN, AGES 5 THROUGH 17 FOR SKILLED TRADE CAREERS, WHICH ARE ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING AND MOST DIFFICULT TO FILL PROFESSIONS IN THE COUNTRY. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 90% OF ADULTS WITH ASD ARE UNDER EMPLOYED. BY FOCUSING ON ONE OF THE MOST UNDESERVED AND HIGH POTENTIAL POPULATIONS, TACT HAS AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE HISTORICAL PATTERNS AND PAVE THE WAY FOR A MORE INCLUSIVE WORK FORCE.
