IN 2022 THERE WAS AN ESTIMATED 4.4 MILLION CUBIC FEET OF SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS THAT WAS COLLECTED FROM THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, DIVERTED FROM THE LANDFILL, AND REDISTRIBUTED OUT TO TEACHERS, THEIR STUDENTS AND THE COMMUNITY. THESE SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS MADE THEIR WAY TO OVER 4500 TEACHERS AND 135,000 STUDENTS TO USE FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. MATERIALS ARE SOLD FOR A NOMINAL COST IN ADDITION TO BEING FREE TO THE TEACHERS WE SERVE. OUR STORE IS OPEN 5 DAYS A WEEK. INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED ALMOST 6,450 HOURS OF SERVICE TO OUR ORGANIZATION. THE EXPENSE FOR OUR SERVICES ARE REFLECTED IN PAYROLL, TRUCK EXPENSES (GAS AND INSURANCE) AND FACILITY EXPENSES. IN JUNE OF 2019 WE OPENED A SATELLITE LOCATION IN THE WEST VALLEY AT THE PENDERGAST SCHOOL DISTRICT. WE ARE IN 4000 SQUARE FEET AND RENT (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) (CONTINUED FROM 990 PAGE 2) AND UTILITIES ARE FREE IN-LIEU OF FREE MEMBERSHIPS AND A $65 CREDIT TO EACH PENDERGAST TEACHER. OUR EXPENSES ARE PRIMARILY SALARY AND COST OF DELIVERING DONATIONS. THE WEST VALLEY LOCATION HAS BEEN OPERATING ON REDUCED HOURS AND PERSONNEL. IN 2023 WE HOPE TO INCREASE STAFF AND HOURS OF OPERATION. IN 2022 145 CORE VOLUNTEERS PLUS 32 CORPORATE GROUPS OF VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED 7361.5 HOURS OF SERVICE.
TREASURES 4 TEACHERS IS AN AFFILIATE OF THE KIDS IN NEED FOUNDATION WHERE WE ARE PROVIDED WITH BRAND NEW SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO GIVE AWAY TO TEACHERS ABSOLUTELY FREE. THESE ITEMS INCLUDE SCHOOL AND OFFICE SUPPLIES, CRAFT MATERIALS, DISINFECTING SUPPLIES AND BOOKS. IN 2022 WE RECEIVED JUST OVER 4.65 MILLION DOLLARS' WORTH OF SUPPLIES FORM THE KIDS IN NEED FOUNDATION.
