TO RESCUE STRAY ANIMALS AND RE-HOME ONES IN NEED WHILE PUTTING INTO PLACE THE NECESSARY SERVICES TO DECREASE ANIMAL OVERPOPULATION.

RESCUE PROGRAM - LOCATING AND ACQUIRING ANIMALS IN VARIOUS STATES OF HOMELESSNESS AND/OR DISTRESS. THIS OFTEN REQUIRES PROVIDING VETERINARY CARE. IN 2023, WE TOOK IN 657 ANIMALS, 482 OF WHICH WERE PUPPIES AND KITTENS. WE HAD SEVERAL LITTERS BORN AT THE RESCUE. WE FACILITATED THE ADOPTIONS OF 560 ANIMALS. WE ALSO HAD OUR FIRST RUN IN WITH CANINE DISTEMPER. THREE VETERINARIANS RECOMMENDED THAT WE EUTHANIZE ALL DOGS IN OUR CARE, 35 AT THE FIRST DIAGNOSIS. WE REACHED OUT TO THE UW SHELTER MEDICINE PROGRAM, DID WEEKLY TESTING, RE-VAMPED OUR VENTILATION SYSTEM, PUT TOGETHER AN EXTENSIVE NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTATION REGIME, WENT THROUGH 400 TYVEK SUITS, AND WERE ABLE TO SAVE 18 OF THE 35 ANIMALS. TMAR HAS EXPANDED ITS REACH BEYOND OUR ADOPTION AREA OF NORTH DAKOTA AND MINNESOTA BY ORGANIZING ADOPTION ROAD TRIPS RESULTING IN ADOPTIONS IN 13 STATES. BY FACILITATING ADOPTIONS OF DOGS AND CATS OUTSIDE OUR REGION, WE'VE NOT ONLY FOUND HOMES FOR THESE ANIMALS BUT ALSO CREATED SPACE TO RESCUE MORE HOMELESS OR INJURED ANIMALS. LAST YEAR, OUR ROAD TRIPS ENABLED 46 DOGS AND 4 CATS TO FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, WHILE ALSO PROVIDING A SAFE HAVEN IN OUR RESCUE FOR OTHER ANIMALS. WE HELD 5 FREE SPAY / NEUTER / VACCINATION CLINICS IN 2023. WE SPAYED OR NEUTERED 295 DOGS AND 160 CATS. WE ALSO ADMINISTERED 1,232 VACCINES INCLUDING RABIES, PARVO AND DISTEMPER. OUR DONATIONS FOR 2023 WERE UP 31% FROM 2022, ALLOWING US TO RECOVER FROM THE DISTEMPER OUTBREAK, CONTINUE OUR RESCUE CONSTRUCTION AND CURB THE ANIMAL POPULATION.WE ALSO ADMINISTER A PET FOOD PANTRY IN PARTNERSHIP THE HUMANE SOCIETY AND CHEWY FOR FAMILIES WHO OTHERWISE MIGHT HAVE HAD TO GIVE UP THEIR PET.IN THE BUILDING PROJECT, WE HAVE COMPLETED THE GREENHOUSE, AND WE HAVE THE EXTERIORS DONE FOR THE YOUTH CENTER AND MAIN RESCUE. WE COMPLETED THE FIRST PHASE OF SOLAR AND HAVE STARTED ON THE GEOTHERMAL.
