A MAIN FOCUS OF THE CHARITY'S CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IS WORKING WITH CO-OPS, COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISES COMPRISING WOMEN ARTISANS IN IMPROVISHED COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT ASIA, AFRICA, AND LATIN AND SOUTH AMERICA. TO SUPPORT THE ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE AND EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN AND THE RELIEF OF POVERTY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES, THE CHARITY ARRANGES TO PURCHASE HANDICRAFTS FROM THE ARTISANS CO-OPS, COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISES AT FAIR TRADE PRICES THAT PAY A LIVING WAGE. AS A MEMBER OF THE FAIR TRADE FEDERATION, THE CHARITY IS COMMITED TO CREATING AN ACCESSIBLE MARKETPLACE SO THAT THESE ARTISANS CAN PURCHASE THE MATERIALS NEEDED FOR PRODUCTION, WITH THE REMAINING FIFTY-PERCENT PAID UPON DELIVERY.
