Part 3 - Line 1

THE CRUSH RETT SYNDROME MISSION IS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND FUNDING TO ULTIMATELY FIND A CURE FOR RETT SYNDROME.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2023, WE SUCCESSFULLY RAISED FUNDS THROUGH OUR FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND OUR SOCIAL MEDIA AWARENESS EFFORTS. WE CONTINUED TO KEEP CONTROL OF OUR OPERATING EXPENSES BY HAVING EFFECTIVE FUNDRAISERS THAT REQUIRE MINIMAL UPFRONT COSTS AND RISKS. AS A RESULT, WE WERE ABLE TO USE MORE FUNDS TO SUPPORT EXCITING RESEARCH ON WAYS TO CURE RETT SYNDROME. WE PROVIDED 200,000 TO SUPPORT GENE THERAPY AND RNA EDITING RESEARCH AGAIN THIS YEAR. WE ARE EXCITED AT THE NEWS THAT THE FIRST TWO HUMAN CLINICAL TRIALS FOR A POTENTIAL GENE THERAPY CURE HAVE BEEN APPROVED WITH SEVERAL FEMALE ADULTS AND ADOLESCENTS DOSED. THE PRELIMINARY RESULTS SHOW VERY GOOD TOLERANCE WITH NO REPORTED INDICATIONS OF SAFETY CONCERNS. ONE OF THE TRIALS HAS REPORTED SOME SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS IN FINE AND GROSS MOTOR FUNCTION IN THEIR ADULT TRIAL PARTICIPANTS.
