TO PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY HOUSING THAT IS AFFORDABLE TO LOW- MODERATE-INCOME AREA RESIDENTS AND TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVES AND REVITALIZE THE COMMUNITY. NCHI VALUES EMPOWERING RESIDENTS AND SUPPORTING FAMILIES TO ENABLE THEM TO BUILD PERSONAL ASSETS.

COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION- THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNITY GARDENS INCREASED ACCESS TO PROMOTE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH OF YOUTH. EDUCATION AND TRAINING WERE PROVIDED TO YOUTH TO SUSTAIN THE COMMUNITY GARDEN AND TO BEAUTIFY THE NEIGHBORHOOD. EACH PARTICIPANT RECEIVED A GARDEN STIPEND. HOME REPAIRS WERE MADE TO RESIDENTS' HOMES TO ENSURE SAFETY. FINANCIAL EDUCATION CLASSES AND HOUSING CREDITS WERE PROVIDED TO RESIDENTS TO IMPROVE FINANCES, CREDIT PROFILES, AND HOME OWNERSHIP PREPARATION. REHABILITATION AND NEW CONSTRUCTION- NEW HOMES WERE BUILT AND OLD HOMES WERE REHABILITATED TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. CURRENT TENANTS HAVE THE OPTION TO PURCHASE THEIR HOME THROUGH THE "MAKE IT HOME" LEASE-PURCHASE PROGRAM.
