OUR DYNAMIC SLATE OF PROGRAMS SUPPORTS OUTSIDE-THE-BOX THINKING AND ENCOURAGES INNOVATIVE, GENRE-BENDING WORK. BY PROVIDING A PROTECTIVE ENVIRONMENT WHERE RISK-TAKING AND COLLABORATION ARE PARAMOUNT, ARS NOVA AMPLIFIES THE VOICES OF A NEW GENERATION OF DIVERSE ARTISTS AND AUDIENCES, PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES OF LIVE ENTERTAINMENT BY NURTURING CREATIVE IDEAS INTO SMART, SURPRISING NEW WORK.

IN FY22 ARS NOVA SERVED OVER 350 EMERGING ARTISTS AND 8,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS THROUGH OUR ARTISTIC PROGRAMS. IN FALL 2021, ARS NOVA PRODUCED THE CULMINATING EXPERIENCE OF P.S. BY TEDDY BERGMAN, SAM CHANSE, AND AMINA HENRY. THE PRODUCTION RAN AT ARS NOVA FROM OCTOBER 7-23, 2021, REACHING 748 AUDIENCE MEMBERS. IN SPRING 2022, ARS NOVA PRODUCED THE LONG-AWAITED WORLD PREMIERE OF ORATORIO FOR LIVING THINGS, CREATED BY HEATHER CHRISTIAN AND DIRECTED BY LEE SUNDAY EVANS. THE PRODUCTION REACHED 5,504 AUDIENCE MEMBERS; WON THREE LORTEL AWARDS, A DRAMA DESK AWARD, AND AN OFF BROADWAY ALLIANCE AWARD; AND WAS NAMED AMONG THE BEST THEATER OF 2022 BY THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE NEW YORKER, AND VULTURE. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, ARS NOVA DEVELOPED NEW WORK WITH 49 ARTISTS THROUGH OUR RESIDENCY PROGRAMS.
