PROVIDE FOOD ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN NEED BY PROVIDING BI-WEEKLY AND EMERGENCY FOOD BOXES WITH FOOD FOR AT LEAST ONE WEEK. PROVIDE WEEKLY SENIOR FOOD PROGRAM. FOODBANK ALSO PROVIDES FAMILIES WITH EMERGENCY LIVING EXPENSES I.E. RENT UTILITIES AUTO REPAIRS ETC. WHEN UNFORESEEN SITUATIONS ARISE.

VALLEY VIEW COMMUNITY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROVIDED FOOD BOXES TO MORE THAN 950,218 CLIENTS AT A COST OF $75.00 PER BOX. 237,554 FOOD BOXES WERE DISTRIBUTED. A FAMILY RECEIVES MORE THAN $300 WORTH OF FOOD IN THEIR FOOD BOX WHICH IS ENOUGH FOOD FOR A WEEK. THE FOODBANK RECEIVED OVER 14,950,000 LBS. OF FOOD FROM INDIVIDUAL DONORS AS WELL AS VARIOUS AGENCIES VALUED AT $2.25 PER LB. FOR TOTAL DOLLAR VALUE OF $38,000,000. IN ADDITION TO CASH CONTRIBUTIONS AND DONATIONS BEING USED TO COVER EMPLOYEE WAGES FOR FOOD DISTRIBUTION AND RECEIVING DONATIONS THESE FUNDS WERE ALSO USED TO COVER COST OF BUILDING LEASES UTILITIES VEHICLE EXPENSES ETC. DONATIONS ARE ALSO USED TO HELP FAMILIES WITH EMERGENCY LIVING EXPENSES I.E. RENT UTILITIES CAR REPAIRS. DURING THIS FILING PERIOD THE FOOD BANK ALSO BEGAN CONSTRUCTION ON A WAREHOUSE FOR STORING DRY GOODS.
VALLEY VIEW COMMUNITY FOOD ASSISTANCE ALSO HAS A SENIOR PROGRAM WHEREBY SENIORS HAVE A DESIGNATED DAY TO PICK UP FOOD BOXES. OF THE MORE THAN 950,218 CLIENTS 374,446 ARE SENIORS. IN ADDITION TO THE SENIOR PROGRAM VALLEY VIEW ALSO PROVIDED FOOD TO 18 SMALL AGENCIES SUCH AS FOSTER GROUP HOMES HOMELESS SHELTERS YOUTH GROUPS WOMEN'S SHELTERS AND SMALL FOOD PANTRIES.
VALLEY VIEW DISTRIBUTES EXTRA FOOD AND ITEMS FOR HOLIDAY DINNERS AND CELEBRATIONS FOR EASTER THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS. DURING THE EASTER HOLIDAY AN ADDITIONAL 18,750 FOOD BOXES WERE DISTRIBUTED ALONG WITH EASTER BASKETS FOR THE CHILDREN. FOR THANKSGIVING OVER 28,750 HOLIDAY DINNERS WERE DISTRIBUTED AND FOR CHRISTMAS 22,500 CLIENTS RECEIVED CHRISTMAS DINNERS BOXES. ALL CLIENTS WITH CHILDREN RECEIVED TOYS AND GIFT BAGS. AT LEAST 625 GIFT BAGS WENT OUT GRANDPARENTS RAISING THEIR GRANDCHILDREN WITH A SPECIAL TREAT FOR THE GRANDPARENT.
