IS THE COLLECTION OF HISTORICAL INFORMATION AND PRESERVATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE VILLAGE OF CAMBRIA AND ITS ENVIRONS. THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY SEEKS OUT AND COLLECTS RELEVANT INFORMATION, PHOTOGRAPHS, ARTIFACTS AND HISTORICAL DATA.

THE SOCIETY PURCHASED AN HISTORIC HOUSE IN ORDER TO PREVENT ITS DESTRUCTION. THE HOUSE HAS BEEN RESTORED AND CONSERVED AS THE CENTER OF THE HISTORIC DISTRICT IN DOWNTOWN CAMBRIA. THE GROUNDS ARE FINISHED, AND SPECIAL EVENTS ARE TAKING PLACE ON THE GROUNDS. A GIFT SHOP HAS BEEN CREATED IN ONE OF THE ROOMS, THE OTHER ROOMS ARE BEING FINISHED WITH PERIOD WALLPAPER, AND ANTIQUE FURNITURE. THE HOUSE IS OPEN FOR TOURS, WITH DOCENTS EXPLAINING ABOUT THE FAMILIES THAT LIVED IN THE HOUSE AND LIFE IN CAMBRIA AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY. THE SOCIETY HAS PURCHASED A 2ND HISTORIC HOUSE NEXT DOOR TO THE 1ST HOUSE, AND IS BEING REFURBISHED TO HOLD THE OFFICE AND THE HISTORIC RECORDS. THE SOCIETY HAS PURCHASED THE OLD SCHOOL HOUSE,AND HAD IT MOVED TO THE EDGE OF TOWN. IT IS BEING REFURBISHED AND FURNISHED TO BE AN EXAMPLE OF A TURN OF THE CENTURY ONE ROOM SCHOOL HOUSE.
