FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM - OVER 160 PANTRIES AND PARTNER AGENCIES PROVIDE THE DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT FOOD SHARE'S PROGRAMS OF FOOD PANTRIES, DISTRIBUTING OF SHELF-STABLE FOOD AND FRESH PRODUCE TO OVER 206,000 VENTURA COUNTY RESIDENTS. THESE AGENCIES HELPED DELIVER OVER 18.5 MILLION POUNDS OF NUTRITIOUS FOOD IN FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022.
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) FUNDED NUTRITION PROGRAMS - COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM (CSFP) AND THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TEFAP) FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS. CSFP PROVIDES A MONTHLY "SENIOR KIT" BOX OF FOOD TO LOW INCOME SENIORS (AGED 60-PLUS) AT NO COST. TEFAP ALLOWS FOR FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO LOW INCOME AREAS OF VENTURA COUNTY, FOOD IS DISTRIBUTED AT NO COST TO ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS. OVER 4 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD WERE DISTRIBUTED IN FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 THROUGH THESE TWO PROGRAMS.
