10 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED ($500 PER STUDENT, PER SEMESTER) TO ACADEMICALLY AND FINANCIALLY DESERVING COLLEGE STUDENTS IN THE COMMUNITY; $10,000 THROUGH A CONTRIBUTION TO ALAMO COLLEGES FOUNDATION, AN IRC. SEC. 501(C)(3) TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATION. ADDITIONALLY, $1,000 EACH WAS DONATED TO THE FOLLOWING 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS: RESPITE CARE OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS WINGS, AND THE VOLUNTEER SERVICES COUNCIL OF THE SAN ANTONIO STATE HOSPITAL.
COSTS TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN THE WOODWARD HOUSE, BUILT IN 1904-1905, WHICH RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL STATE OF TEXAS HISTORICAL MARKER IN 1995 AND WAS RECOGNIZED BY THE NATIONAL REGISTRY OF HISTORICAL PLACES ON JUNE 12, 1996. THE WOODWARD HOUSE IS THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF SAN ANTONIO, THE OLDEST FEDERATED WOMAN'S CLUB IN THE STATE OF TEXAS. THESE COSTS ARE ALSO NECESSARY TO GENERATE $5,869 PROGRAM SERVICE REVENUE (PAGE 9, LINE 2B).
