THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SAN ANTONIO, INC. IS AN ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVING COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. ITS PURPOSE IS EXCLUSIVELY EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE. WE ARE PROUD TO NOTE IN THE 2021-2022 LEAGUE YEAR, 75% OF OUR EXPENSES WENT DIRECTLY TO SERVING OUR MISSION.WE BEGAN THE 2021-2022 BY WELCOMING 40+ WOMEN APPLICANTS TO OUR NEW MEMBER PROGRAM WHICH OFFERS A VARIETY OF COMMUNITY AND FUNDRAISING PROJECTS, MEMBER ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES, TRAININGS ENHANCING COMMUNITY AWARENESS, AND MISSION RELATED VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. FROM OUR FOUNDING IN 1924, - CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE OJLSA HAS INSTILLED IN THE MEMBERS A DEEPLY FELT DUTY TO ENGAGE IN VOLUNTARISM, WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP, AND MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY IMPACT, AND IT WAS CONTINUED ON THROUGH THE 2021-2022 WITH OVER 750+ DEDICATED AND COMMITTED MEMBERS. WE HAD 165+ WOMEN SERVING AS ACTIVE PLACEMENT MEMBERS HOLDING BOARD OF DIRECTOR POSITIONS, AN APPOINTED JOB, OR COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER PLACEMENT. THE VARIETY OF PLACEMENTS OFFERED PROVIDE A MEMBER WITH TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT, AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES IN A WIDE RANGE OF AREAS SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, OUR FUND DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNICATIONS, COMMUNITY, MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, FINANCE, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCILS, AND SO MUCH MORE. THE JLSA CONTINUES TO IMPROVE COMMUNITIES YEAR-ROUND THROUGH PARTNERING WITH 30+ COMMUNITY AGENCIES. OUR VOLUNTEERS IN THE 2021-2022 LEAGUE YEAR COMPLETED OVER 1,000 COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER HOURS THROUGH OUR DONE-IN-A-DAY PROJECTS. THROUGH THESE PROJECTS JLSA MEMBERS ARE ABLE TO USE THEIR DIVERSE AND WONDERFUL TALENTS TO MEET THE IMMEDIATE NEEDS OF THE SAN ANTONIO COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION TO, JLSA HELPED EIGHT OF OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS THROUGH A VARIETY OF PROJECTS FOCUSED ON AREAS PERTAINING TO OUR MISSION AND POSITIONS STATEMENTS, THROUGH PROVIDING VOLUNTEER HOURS, FUNDS, AND PROGRAMMING. JLSA NAVIGATED THROUGH ANOTHER POST PANDEMIC YEAR AND SUCCESSFULLY HELD FUNDRAISING EVENTS, SPECIAL EVENTS, AND UNDERWRITING CAMPAIGNS, RAISING OVER $140,000 TO WHICH SUPPORTS OUR EMPOWERMENT AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION TO RECRUIT NEW MEMBERS, DEVELOP STRONG TRAINING, AND OFFER A BROAD RANGE OF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION TO MARKING OUR FOURTH YEAR OF OUR FIVE-YEAR CENTENNIAL SIGNATURE PROJECT, PAVING NEW PATHS, IN WHICH JLSA HAS PARTNERED WITH CLARITY CHILD GUIDANCE CENTER. TRAILBLAZERS, COMMUNITY AND JLSA LEADERS ALIKE WITH A PASSION FOR PROMOTING RESILIENCE AND MENTAL WELLNESS IN THE GREATER SAN ANTONIO COMMUNITY.
