PRESERVATION TASK FORCE - CREATION OF A PRESERVATION TASK FORCE TO WORK TOWARD FINDING A SOLUTION FOR THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE LAKE MCQUEENEY DAM, AND ENSURING EFFICIENT & RELIABLE OPERATON AND MAINTENANCE OVER THE LONG TERM. RESPONSIBILITY ALSO INCLUDES IMPLEMENTATION OF A WATER DISTRICT AND TO UNDERTAKE LEGAL ACTION TO STOP DRAINING OF THE LAKES.


SAFETY - MAINTAINED SAFETY BUOYS ON THE LAKE. REMOVED DEBRIS, TREES AND STUMPS THAT WERE HAZARDOUS TO THE LAKE WATERWAYS, DUE TO FLOODING. CONTRACTED BIOLOGISTS TO CHECK FOR WATER QUALITY AND INVASIVE PLANTS ON A QUARTERLY BASIS, AND EDUCATE BOARD MEMBERS TO IDENTIFY INVASIVE SPECIES.


INFORMATION - PRODUCED AND DISTRIBUTED FLOOD INFORMATION TO ALL WATERFRONT PROPERTY OWNERS. PROVIDED AND MAINTAINED A WEBSITE WITH LINGS, EMAIL NOTICES AND INFORMATION, AND COMMUNICATION THROUGH FACEBOOK. DISTRIBUTED TO MEMBERS METAL PLAQUES TO DISPLAY ON THEIR WATER FRONTS/BOAT DOCKS. ATTENDED MEETINGS IN AUSTIN REGARDING WATER FLOWS AND WATER QUALITY ISSUES THAT BENEFITED BOTH THE PUBLIC AND MEMBERS THAT USE LAKE MCQUEENEY. WORKED EXTENSIVELY WITH GUADALUPE BLANCO RIVER AUTHORITY ON THE SCOPE OF DAM REPAIR, OPTIONS, AND REPAIR STATUS.
