THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF BELL COUNTY IS AN ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVING COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. ITS PURPOSE IS EXCLUSIVELY EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE. THE FOCUS OF THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF BELL COUNTY SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT AND WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF BELL COUNTY PAYS FOR MEMBERS TRAVEL AND TRAINING COSTS TO ATTEND CONFERENCES FOR VOLUNTEER TRAINING. HAVING WELL TRAINED VOLUNTEERS ALLOWS JLBC TO TAKE EFFECTIVE ACTION IN THE COMMUNITY TO PROMOTE VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOP THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVE COMMUNITIES.


DONE IN A DAY PROGRAM ENABLES THE JLBC TO ASSIST OTHER COMMUNITY AGENCIES IN BELL COUNTY. THESE ORGANIZATIONS DO NOT HAVE A NEED FOR LEAGUE VOLUNTEERS ON AN ONGOING BASIS,BUT MAY HAVE A NEED TO STAFF A ONE OR TWO DAY SPECIAL EVENT OR HAVE A ONE TIME NEED FOR EXTRA VOLUNTEERS.


GIRLS EMPOWERMENT MOVEMENT AKA PROJECT PROM: THE GIRLS EMPOWERMENT MOVEMENT IS A MENTORSHIP PROGRAM FOR BELL COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS. THROUGHOUT THEIR SENIOR YEAR, GEM PARTICIPANTS ATTEND A SERIES OF EVENTS AND CLASSES TO PREPARE THEM FOR LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL. TOPICS INCLUDE COLLEGE AND CAREER CHOICES, PERSONAL FINANCE, AND HEALTH AND NUTRITION. THE PROGRAM CULMINATES WITH PROJECT PROM, A SPECIAL EXPERIENCE PROVIDING PROM DRESSES, GRADUATION DRESSES, AND ACCESSORIES FOR THE EVENTS CELEBRATING THIS IMPORTANT LIFE STAGE.
