THE UNITED WAY OF SOUTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA IS A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION WITH A VISION TO BUILD STRONGER, HEALTHIER, AND MORE COMPASSIONATE COMMUNITIES. WE ACCOMPLISH THIS BY CONVENING AND FUNDING QUALIFIED HEALTH, YOUTH AND HUMAN SERVICE CHARITIES WHO SERVE THE LOCAL NEEDS OF COMMUNITIES WITHIN OUR SERVICE AREA. UNITED WAY OF SOUTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA ALSO PLAYS AN INTEGRAL ROLE IN MANY COMMUNITY INITIATIVES CREATED TO RESPOND TO COMMUNITY NEEDS. UNITED WAY OF SOUTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA PARTNERS WITH NONPROFIT AGENCIES TO PROVIDE EXPERTISE, SUPPORT, AND SOLUTIONS TO THE NEEDS OF LOCAL CITIZENS. WE FUND PROGRAMS OF PARTNER AGENCIES WITH DONATIONS COLLECTED FROM THE PUBLIC THROUGH AN ANNUAL CAMPAIGN HELD EACH FALL. THE DONATED FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO PARTNER AGENCIES THROUGH AN ALLOCATION PROCESS CALLED COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS. TO SUPPORT OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY ALLOCATION DECISIONS ARE MADE BY MORE THAN SIXTEEN (16) COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS FROM OUR DONOR BASE AS WELL AS THOSE DETERMINED DESIGNATIONS BEING APPROVED BY THE UNITED WAY OF SOUTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA BOARD OF DIRECTORS. UNITED WAY OF SOUTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMAS ROLE IS TO ASSIST IN RAISING FUNDS, OVERSEE THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS AND REPORT BACK TO STAKEHOLDERS ON THE IMPACT OF THE SUPPORTED PROGRAMS. UNITED WAY OF SOUTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA RECEIVES DIRECT CONTRIBUTIONS, GRANTS AS WELL AS CONDUCTING AN ANNUAL CAMPAIGN TO GENERATE RESOURCES FOR THE COMMUNITY.
