CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, REPRESENTATION AND OUTREACH. THIS IS THE MAIN THRUST OF LWF'S WORK. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, LWF CO-SPONSORS EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR HUNTERS, ANGLERS AND OTHER OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS TO EXPLAIN HOW TO CONSERVE THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE IN LOUISIANA. LWF MONITORED AND POSTED REPORTS ON VARIOUS LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS AND AGENCY ACTIONS THAT AFFECTED NATURAL RESOURCES AND THEIR MANAGEMENT AND THE QUALITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT. LWF EDUCATED CITIZENS ON THE NEED FOR COASTAL RESTORATION AND CURRENT STATE PLANS VIA EMAIL, NEWSLETTER, AND SOCIAL MEDIA AND ONLINE EVENTS. CONSERVATION LEADERSHIP CORPS PROGRAM ENGAGES LOUISIANA COLLEGE STUDENTS AN 4 WEEKEND SESSIONS ABOUT CONSERVATION POLICY TO BROADEN THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE.


LWF CONSERVATION ACHEIVEMENT AWARDS PROGRAM - LWF SPONSORS AN ANNUAL PROGRAM TO RECOGNIZE SIGNIFICANT CONSERVATION ACHIEVEMENT BY LOUISIANA CITIZENS TO PROTECT LOUISIANA'S ENVIRONMENT AND RECREATIONAL ENJOYMENT. LWF SOLICITS NOMINATIONS FOR 10 CATEGORIES, SELECTS RECIPIENTS WITH AN INDEPENDENT PANEL OF JUDGES AND HOSTS A BANQUET TO PRESENT AWARDS.


COASTAL OUTREACH PROGRAM PROVIDES UPDATED INFORMATION, COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES, AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT, INCLUDING HOSTING AND PARTICIPATING IN PUBLIC MEETINGS AND MEDIA EVENTS, PARTICULARLY ABOUT LOUISIANA'S 2023 COASTAL MASTER PLAN, PROJECTS, FUNDING.
