Part 3

THE RESCUE WAS ABLE TO HELP 40 HORSES IN 2022. THERE IS MUCH TIME SPENT WITH PEOPLE AND THEIR HORSES WORKING THROUGH PROBLEMS TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO KEEP THE HORSE IN THE HOME. SERVICES PROVIDED WERE CHIROPRACTOR, DENTIST, FARRIER, TRAINING, VET, EUTHANASIA AND BURIAL ASSISTANCE, CONSULTATIONS ON PROBLEM HORSES AND HOW TO FEED OLDER HORSES CORRECTLY. HORSES RESCUED WERE PREACHER - HE WAS RESCUED FROM A NEGLECTFUL HOME AT 200 LBS UNDERWEIGHT. WOUNDS AND SCARS WERE ALL OVER HIS BODY. TIPSY - WE TOOK HER IN BY REQUEST FROM HER OWNER WHO COULD NO LONGER CARE FOR HER. SULLY - HE WAS IN A HOME THAT DIDN'T FIT. HE HAD SOME OLD SHOULDER INJURIES. HE WAS TREATED AND IS BEING MAINTAINED AT SRER. ALSO TAKEN IN WERE REIGN AND SASSY. HORSES ADOPTED OUT WERE PREACHER AND TIPSY WHO BOTH WENT TO WONDERFUL FAMILY HOMES WITH CHILDREN TO GIVE THEM LOVE AND ATTENTION. THEY ARE FLOURISHING IN THEIR NEW HOMES AND THEIR NEW FAMILIES STAY IN TOUCH WITH PHOTOS AND TALES OF THEIR SHENANIGANS. ZEUS WAS ADOPTED INTO A LOCAL RANCH HOME WHERE HE IS WORKING CATTLE EVERY DAY. CALLIE WENT TO A WOMAN WHO LOST HER HORSE AND NEEDED A COMPANION. SHE ABSOLUTELY ADORES CALLIE. CONTINUING TO WORK WITH BIG JOHN ALSO, GRIFFIN HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME WITH SRER. TWO YEARS AGO WE FOUND HIM AT A KILL PEN. HE WAS 300 POUNDS UNDERWEIGHT, MISSING AN EYE, HAD A RESPIRATORY INFECTION AND WORMS. HE HUNG HIS HEAD LOW AND DRUG HIS FEET WHEN HE WALKED. HE WAS TRAUMATIZED AND UNSURE ABOUT LIFE, YET NOT UNTRUSTING. ALTHOUGH HE WAS SCARED, HE WAS OPEN. NOW HE IS THRIVING. A TYLER TV STATION SENT A REPORTER TO INTERVIEW ANGELA AND GRIFFIN IN 2020. THE ARTICLE CAN BE FOUND AT TYLERPAPER.COM "RESCUE HORSE RECOVERS FROM MISTREATMENT AND NEGLECT". THERE HAS EVEN BEEN A CHILDREN'S BOOK WRITTEN ABOUT HIM "GRIFFIN, A RESCUE STORY". THE BOOK'S AUTHOR IS GINA LEATHERMAN AND CAN BE PURCHASED ON AMAZON.
