WINGS STARTED ITS WOMEN'S PROGRAM EIGHT YEARS AGO. IT OFFERS YOUNG MOTHERS WHO WANT TO RECOVER FROM ALCOHOL, METH AND HEROIN ADDICTION WRAPAROUND SERVICES TO SUPPORT THEIR RECOVERY. WINGS PROVIDES TWO STAFF MEMBERS, WHO ARE ALSO IN RECOVERY. IT PROVIDES HOUSING WITH A FIVE-BEDROOM HOUSE IN THE DALLES, OREGON FOR MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN. WINGS WORKS WITH LOCAL AGENCIES TO PROVIDE OTHER NECESSARY SERVICES TO INSURE RECOVERY SUCCESS. THOSE AGENCIES INCLUDE, WASCO COUNTY CORRECTIONS, THE NEXT DOOR, FAMILY DEPENDENCY COURT, DHS, MID-COLUMBIA HOUSING, MENTAL HEALTH AGENCIES, ONE COMMUNITY HEALTH, MCMC, AND LOCAL AA AND NA MEETINGS. 1.WINGS CONTINUES A WEEKLY PARENTING CLASS IN THE HOUSE AND OFFERED THIS TO MOTHERS IN OTHER PROGRAMS. 2.WINGS CONTINUES AN IN-HOUSE WEEKLY NA MEETING TO ALLOW MOMS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN TO ATTEND WITH THE NEED FOR DAYCARE. 3.WINGS CONTINUED A WEEKLY COOKING/NUTRITION CLASS RUN BY THE DIRECTOR.
