FAMILY HOUSING AND ADULT RESOURCES INC. FHAR SERVES PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. FHAR'S MISSION IS TO ASSIST EACH PROGRAM PARTICIPANT TO REACH HIS OR HER FULL POTENTIALS.

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES PROVIDE RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES WITH SUPPORT SERVICES FOR ADULTS WHO HAVE DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS HISTORIES OF NEGLECT ABUSE OR PREVIOUSLY RESIDED IN DEVELOPMENTAL CENTERS. THE SERVICES ARE DESIGNED TO HELP RESIDENTS WITH INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS AND REDUCTION OF MALADAPTIVE BEHAVIORS. IN 2022 AVERAGE 52 CLIENTS WERE PERMANENT RESIDENTS WITH FHAR.


DAY PROGRAMS INCLUDE ADP ADULT DEVELOPMENT AND ESS EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SERVICES. ADP A PRE-VOCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPERMENTALLY DISABLED ADULTS HELPS REDUCTION OF MALADAPTIVE BEHAVIORS THAT PREVENT PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING REGULAR STARDARD VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS OR WORK SETTINGS. ESS EMPHASIZES INDEPENDENT AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCES WITH NON-DIABLED PEERS. ESS PARTICIPANTS EVENTUALLY ARE INTEGRATED INTO THE WORKFORCE WHILE SUPPORTED BY FHAR STAFF TO ENSURE SUCCESSFUL LONG-TERM PLACEMENT. IN 2022 BOTH PROGRAMS ATTRACTED APPROXIMATELY 85 PARTICIPANTS MONTHLY.


SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES SLS ALONG WITH INDEPENDENT LIVING TRAINING ILT SERVE: INDIVIDUALS WHO GRADUATED FROM FHAR'S RESIDENTIAL SERVICE PROGRAM INDIVIDUALS WHO RESIDE IN THEIR HOMES OR FAMILIES AND THOSE WHO LIVE IN FHAR'S SUPPORTED LIVING FACILITIES. THE SERVICES HELP THE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS TO LIVE SEMI-INDEPENDENTLY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. IN 2022 THERE WERE 46 - 52 CLIENTS UNDER FHAR'S SLS AND ILT PROGRAMS.
