FAMILY HOUSING AND ADULT RESOURCES INC. FHAR SERVES ADULTS WHO HAVE INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENT DISABILITIES. FHAR'S MISSION IS TO ASSIST EACH CLIENT TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIALS.

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES PROVIDE RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR ADULTS WHO HAVE DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS HISTORIES OF NEGLECT ABUSE OR PREVIOUSLY RESIDED IN DEVELOPMENTAL CENTERS. THE SERVICES ARE DESIGNED TO HELP RESIDENTS WITH INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS AND REDUCTION OF MALADAPTIVE BEHAVIORS. IN 2021 ABOUT 54 CLIENTS WERE PERMANENT RESIDENTS WITH FHAR.
DAY PROGRAMS INCLUDE ADULT DEVELPMENT ADP AND EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SERVICES ESS. ADP A PRE-VOCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPEMENTALLY DISABLED ADULTS HELPS REDUCTION OF MALADAPTIVE BEHAVIORS THAT PREVENT PARTICIPANTS SUCCESSFUL IN STANDARD VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS OR WORK SETTINGS. ESS EMPHASIZES INDEPENDENT AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCES WITH NON-DISABLED PEERS. ESS PARTICIPANTS EVENTUALLY ARE INTEGRATED INTO THE WORK FORCE WHILE SUPPORTED BY FHAR STAFF TO ENSURE SUCCESSFUL LONG-TERM PLACEMENT. IN 2021 BOTH PROGRAMS ATTRACTED APPROXIMATELY 81 PARTICIPANTS MONTHLY.
SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES SLS AND INDEPENDENT LIVING TRAINING ILT SERVICES PROVIDED TO GRADUATES OF FHAR'S RESIDENTIAL SERVICE PROGRAM TO INDIVIDUALS RESIDING IN THEIR OWN HOMES OR FAMILIES OR TO THOSE LIVING IN FHAR'S SUPPORTED LIVING FACILITIES. IN 2021 AVERAGE OF 54 CLIENTS EVERY MONTH WERE SERVED. SLS AND ILT HELP THE CLIENTS ENABLE TO LIVE SEMI-INDEPENDENTLY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.
