HOUSING DEVELOPMENT - THROUGH THE AID OF STATE GRANTS, THE ORGANIZATION WAS ABLE IN PRIOR YEARS TO PURCHASE 19 LOTS IN SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUILDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR FAMILIES IN NEED. THROUGH VOLUNTEER LABOR ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITES IN WHICH LABOR WAS BOTH TRAINED AND SUPERVISED BY THE ORGANIZATION, HABITAT BEGAN THE CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES AND HAS BEEN ABLE TO SELL SOME, PROVIDING HOUSING TO THOSE IN NEED AND CONTINUES CONSTRUCTION ON THE REMAINING LOTS.
