DAVIS COMMUNITY MEALS, DBA DAVIS COMMUNITY MEALS AND HOUSING , A NONPROFIT CORPORATION, IS ORGANIZED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOOD, TEMPORARY HOUSING, AND HUMAN SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME AND HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO HELP THEM REBUILD THEIR LIVES. DAVIS COMMUNITY MEALS, DBA DAVIS COMMUNITY MEALS AND HOUSING (THE ORGANIZATION) IS SUPPORTED PRIMARILY THROUGH GOVERNMENT GRANTS AND PRIVATE DONOR CONTRIBUTIONS.ALL PROGRAMS OFFER A VARIETY OF SUPPORTIVE SERVICES INCLUDING CASE MANAGEMENT, LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, EMPLOYMENT COUNSELING, DRUG/ALCOHOL COUNSELING, MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, HOUSING PLACEMENT AND ASSISTANCE, HOMELESS PREVENTION SERVICES AND REFERRALS. THE ORGANIZATION IS CURRENTLY CONSTRUCTING PAULS PLACE TO REPLACE OUR OLD SHELTER AND RESOURCE CENTER. IT WILL ALSO ADD 18 UNITS OF PERMANENT HOUSING FOR HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND HOUSEHOLDS. PAUL'S PLACE GRAND OPENING SCHEDULED FEBRUARY 2023.

PERMANENT HOUSING PROGRAM:THE PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAMS AT CESAR CHAVEZ PLAZA (52 UNITS) AND CREEKSIDE (90 UNITS)OFFER PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING TO HOMELESS AND AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS INDIVIDUALS AND HOUSEHOLDS.


TEMPORARY HOUSING PROGRAM:THE EMERGENCY SHELTER AND TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM FOR ADULTS PROVIDE SHELTER FOR 12 INDIVIDUALS: 10 MEN AND 2 WOMEN. THE FAMILY TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM PROVIDES HOUSING FOR FOUR HOMELESS FAMILIES AT SCATTERED SITES IN DAVIS.


RESOURCE CENTER:THE DAY SHELTER (RESOURCE CENTER) IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND PROVIDES HOMELESS AND LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES ACCESS TO SHOWERS, PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS, AND OTHER NECESSITIES. ADDITIONALLY,THE CENTER PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, COMPUTER SERVICES, AND MAIL SERVICE. SERVICES ARE ALSOPROVIDED FOR CAREER COUNSELING, SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING, AND MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING.
