THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION IS TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND CONDUCT ACTIVITIES IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES OF TENNESSEE, PARTICULARLY PUBLIC ASSISTED HOUSING RESIDENTS, IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE RESIDENTS IN BECOMING SELF-SUFFICIENT AND PROVIDE NECESSARY SERVICES TO THOSE FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS THAT WILL IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.

THE HOME PROGRAM IS A COMPETITIVELY-FUNDED PROGRAM BY HUD AND ADMINISTERED WITHIN TENNESSEE BY THE TENNESSEE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AGENCY. TCAC RECEIVED THE REMAINDER OF A 2018 HOME GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF 500,000 FOR A HOMEOWNER REHABILITATION PROGRAM WITHIN COCKE COUNTY, TN. IT IS A 3-YEAR GRANT AND INCLUDES 30,000 FUNDS FOR LOCAL PROJECT ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES BY TCAC STAFF. ELIGIBLE HOMEOWNERS TO RECEIVE REPAIRS MUST BE LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS, THE HOME MUST BE THEIR PRIMARY RESIDENCE, AND OWN THEIR PROPERTY. THE WORK IS PERFORMED BY LICENSED CONTRACTORS AND HOMEOWNERS RECEIVE A 5-15 YEAR FORGIVABLE GRANT NOTE AS LONG AS THEY REMAIN IN THEIR HOME DURING THE TERM
MAKING VETERANS PRIORITY (MVP) IS AN AMERICORPS PROGRAM THAT TARGETS VETERANS AND/OR THEIR FAMILIES WHO ARE HOMELESS OR ON THE VERGE OF BECOMING HOMELESS BY LINKING THEM SERVICES IN THEIR AREA. WE ALSO HELP LINK ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND THE FAMILIES OF DEPLOYED SOLDIERS AS WELL.
TCAC DEPOT HELPS TCAC PARTNERS, OTHER NON-PROFITS, AND CHURCHES THROUGHOUT TENNESSEE PROVIDE PRODUCTS AND INCENTIVES THAT FURTHER THE INDIVIDUAL AGENCY'S MISSION. TCAC DEPOT REDISTRIBUTES NEW PRODUCTS THAT ASSIST PARTNERING AGENCIES IN STRETCHING THEIR SERVICE DOLLARS WHILE PROVIDING MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES TO TENNESSEANS MOST IN NEED, TCAC DEPOT CURRENTLY HAS 100 PARTNERING AGENCIES AND 13 DISTRIBUTION PARTNERS.
