THE TOM COUGHLIN JAY FUND FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO HELP FAMILIES TACKLE CHILDHOOD CANCER BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT.

A.THE JAY FUND PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO RELIEVE FINANCIAL BURDENS ASSOCIATED WITH CHILDHOOD CANCER. WE COVER A FAMILY'S HOUSEHOLD EXPENSES WHILE THEIR CHILD IS UNDERGOING ACTIVE TREATMENT AND FOR UP TO SIX MONTHS AFTERWARD. THE JAY FUND OFFERS FINANCIAL LITERACY SEMINARS AND ONE-ON-ONE FINANCIAL COACHING TO HELP FAMILIES MAKE IT THROUGH THE TREATMENT PROCESS FINANCIALLY INTACT. WE OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS SO SURVIVORS CAN REACH THEIR ACADEMIC GOALS. THE JAY FUND ALSO COVERS FUNERAL EXPENSES IF FAMILIES NEED HELP. IN 2023, 595 PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES WERE PROVIDED WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
B.EMOTIONAL SUPPORT INVOLVES OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE JAY FUND OFFERS SPECIAL PROJECTS, SERVICES AND EVENTS, FROM SIBLING SUPPORT AND CAREGIVER PROGRAMS TO HOLIDAY PARTIES. FAMILIES GET A BREAK FROM CANCER, CONNECT WITH OTHERS WHO UNDERSTAND THEIR JOURNEY AND HAVE ACCESS TO SUPPORT SERVICES THEY WOULD OTHERWISE NOT RECEIVE. IN 2023, 531 FAMILIES PARTICIPATED IN 126 JAY FUND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPERIENCES.
