THE KSUAA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OPERATIONS OF 18 SPORTS INCLUDING FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, MEN'S & WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY, MEN'S & WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK, MEN'S & WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK, WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL, SOFTBALL, WOMEN'S SOCCER, AND WOMEN'S LACROSSE. THE KSUAA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FUNCTIONS OF THESE TEAMS RELATED TO TEAM TRAVEL, GAME DAY, FIELD MAINTENANCE, RECRUITING, APPAREL AND EQUIPMENT, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND INSURANCE TO NAME A FEW OF THE MAJOR TASKS. CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINERS PERFORM SPORTS MEDICINE SERVICES FOR OUR ATHLETES. THE ATHLETIC TRAINERS ARE HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS WHO COLLABORATE WITH PHYSICIANS TO OPTIMIZE ACTIVITY AND PARTICIPATION OF PATIENTS AND CLIENTS. ATHLETIC TRAINING ENCOMPASSES THE PREVENTION, DIAGNOSIS, AND INTERVENTION OF EMERGENCY, ACUTE, AND CHRONIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS INVOLVING IMPAIRMENT, FUNCTIONAL LIMITATIONS, AND DISABILITIES.
