TOBACCO PROGRAM - THE OVERALL GOAL OF THE TOBACCO FREE FLORIDA AHEC CESSATION PROGRAM IS TO STRENGTHEN THE CAPACITY OF FLORIDA'S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM TO DELIVER EFFECTIVE EVIDENCE-BASED TOBACCO USE TREATMENT, CESSATION, AND PREVENTION SERVICES THROUGHOUT THE STATE. THE PROGRAM IS EVIDENCE-BASED AND USES THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION'S (CDC) BEST PRACTICES FOR COMPREHENSIVE TOBACCO CONTROL PROGRAMS.
MODEL PROGRAM - THE PROGRAM SUPPORT ENHANCED ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY,CULTURALLY COMPETENT HEALTH CARE THROUGH ACADEMIC-COMMUNITYPARTNERSHIPS. IT IMPROVES THE DISTRIBUTION, DIVERSITY, AND SUPPLY OF APRIMARY CARE HEALTH WORKFORCE WHO SERVE IN RURAL AND UNDERSERVED HEALTHCARE DELIVERY SITES.
