PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTING COASTAL WILDLIFE CLUBS MARINE TURTLE MONITORING PROGRAM, BOTH IN AREAS INCLUDED IN CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AND AREAS DONE ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ON THE BEACH TRAINING, GATHERINGS AND PARTIAL FUNDING OF REGISTRATIONS AND TRAVEL FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND VOLUNTEERS TO ATTEND SYMPOSIA AND CONVENTIONS WITH THE PURPOSE OF CREATING A PROFESSIONAL CADRE OF TURTLE MONITORS. DATA COLLECTION, REPORT PREPARATION AND COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL AND STATE REGULATORY AGENCIES AS WELL AS LOCAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS HELP PROVIDE A SYSTEM TO MONITOR TURTLE NESTING AT LOCAL BEACHES IN SUPPORT OF CONSERVATION EFFORTS. NOTE: THE COVID PANDEMIC REDUCED SOME OF THESE ACTIVITIES AND ASSOCIATED COSTS AS THE MAJORITY OF GATHERINGS AND TRAINING MEETINGS WERE CANCELED OR SWITCHED TO VIRTUAL.
