THE ORGANIZATION HAS CONDUCTED A NUMBER OF RESEARCH PROJECTS. -HDTRA-13-1-0004 - APTAMERS FROM ARTIFICIAL GENETIC SYSTEMS - THIS PROJECT INVOLVES WORK TO DEVELOP TECHNOLOGY TO CREATE "BINDERS ON DEMAND" IN THE FORM OF NUCLEIC ACID ANALOGS CONTAINING ADDITIONAL NUCLEIC ACID BUILDING BLOCKS.--1R01GM111386-01 - EXPANDED DNA, IN VITRO SELECTION, APTAMERS, AND CANCER - THIS PROJECT INVOLVES WORK TO DEVELOP THE TECHNOLOGY TO ROUTINELY, RELIABLY, AND INEXPENSIVELY DELIVER DNA-LIKE MOLECULES THAT BIND TO TARGETS ("APTAMERS"), FOR ANY TARGET, BUT INITIALLY FOR CANCER CELLS AND THEIR PROTEINS.JTF ACTIVITIES - THIS ADMINISTRATIVE PROJECT OVERSEES EIGHT RESEARCH PROJECTS TO UNDERSTAND HOW ANIMATE MATTER ABLE TO EXPLOIT DARWINISM MIGHT EMERGE FROM INANIMATE MATTER, AN EMERGENCE WHAT DEFINES THE ORIGIN OF LIFE.
