TO PROVIDE A SAFE HAVEN FOR ABANDONED OR ABUSED DOGS AND CATS IN A NO KILL SHELTER. THE GOAL IS TO ADOPT OUT THE ANIMALS TO FOREVER HOMES.

APL OF SC PAYS TO PROVIDE A SAFE SHELTER FOR HOMELESS,ABUSED OR ABANDONED PETS IN THE COLUMBIA, SC AREA. THESE ANIMALS ARE HOUSED AT OUR LOCAL SHELTER FOR BOTH DOGS AND CATS. THESE ANIMALS ARE THEN GIVEN A CHANCE AT A NORMAL HAPPY LIFE YHROUGH OUR VARIOUS ADOPTION PROGRAMS. THE ANIMALS ARE KEPT OUT OF THE LOCAL SHELTERS, SAVING THEIR LIVES IN SOME CASES AND HELP TO REDUCE THE COST TO THE LOCAL SHELTERS.
BEFORE ADOPTION, ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED OR NEUTERED,MICROCHIPPED AND ALL SHOTS ARE UPDATED. ALL OTHER HEALTH CARE IS FURNISHED AS NEEDED.
APL OF SC ADOPTION PROGRAMS ADOPTS ANIMALS FROM OUR SHELTER TO FOREVER HOMES. IN ADDITION, APL OF SC PARTNERS WITH LOCAL BUSINESS FOR ADOPTIONS OFF SITE, THUS ALLOWING TO INCREASE OUR OVERALL NUMBER OF ADOPTONS. 2022 OFFSITE ADOPTIONS WERE LIMITED DUE TO CONTINUING COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS.
