GOODWILL INDUSTRIES PROVIDES WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, PRIMARILY FUNDED FROM THE SALES OF DONATED GOODS, THAT HELP PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER DISADVANTAGING CONDITIONS WHO WANT TO WORK, OVERCOME BARRIERS, AND ACHIEVE HIGHER LEVELS OF PERSONAL AND ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT - GOODWILL PROVIDES A RANGE OF BASIC AND INTENSIVE VOCATIONAL SERVICES DESIGNED TO ASSESS AND BUILD VOCATIONAL SKILLS AND POTENTIAL, IDENTIFY AND DEVELOP EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT JOB RETENTION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PEOPLE WE SERVE. SERVICES INCLUDE INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, CASE MANAGEMENT, VOCATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND PLANNING, TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT, JOB READINESS TRAINING, JOB DEVELOPMENT AND PLACEMENT, JOB COACHING AND POST-EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT. IN 2022, GOODWILL PROVIDED 28,680 SERVICES TO VARIOUS DISPLACED INDIVIDUALS. AS PART OF THIS, GOODWILL PLACED 201 PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS INTO COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT, 34 PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS INTO TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT AND HELPED 103 PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS FIND WAGES ABOVE POVERTY.
RETAIL OPERATIONS - GOODWILL'S RETAIL STORES, E-COMMERCE AND AFTER-MARKET SALVAGE RECYCLING OPERATIONS GENERATE REVENUE TO FUND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES AS WELL AS TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PEOPLE WE SERVE. DONATED ITEMS FROM THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD GOODS, FURNITURE AND ELECTRONICS ARE COLLECTED, SORTED AND PREPARED FOR RESALE OR RECYCLING. IN 2022, GOODWILL'S RETAIL OPERATIONS OFFERED JOB TRAINING FOR 1,547 CLIENTS AT STORES AND PROVIDED $7,619,914 IN WAGES. RETAIL AND SALVAGE RECYCLING PROGRAMS ALSO DIVERTED 6,670,000 POUNDS OF MATERIALS FROM THE LANDFILL.
CONTRACTS OPERATIONS - GOODWILL OFFERS PROFESSIONAL AND COST-EFFECTIVE BUSINESS SOLUTIONS TO COMMERCIAL AND GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS ON A CONTRACTUAL BASIS TO CREATE TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS FOR THE PEOPLE WE SERVE. SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE JANITORIAL, GROUNDS MAINTENANCE AND TEMPORARY STAFFING. IN 2022, GOODWILL'S CONTRACTS OPERATIONS CLEANED 3.3 MILLION SQUARE FEET OF SPACE DAILY, MAINTAINED 96 ACRES OF GROUNDS WEEKLY. THESE CONTRACTS CREATED EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS FOR 256 INDIVIDUALS OF WHICH 78% ARE DISABLED AND PROVIDED $2,700,486 IN WAGES.
