DONATED GOODS - GOODWILL KEYSTONE AREA ACCEPTS DONATIONS OF CLOTHING AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD GOODS FROM THE PUBLIC AND SELLS THESE DONATIONS IN GOODWILL COMMUNITY-BASED RETAIL STORES AND DONATION CENTERS. SERVICES AND EMPLOYMENT WERE PROVIDED TO 267 PEOPLE. IN ADDITION, 2,272 PEOPLE WERE EMPLOYED, MANY OF WHOM WERE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES OR HAD OTHER BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. REVENUE FROM THE SALE OF DONATED GOODS GOES DIRECTLY TOWARD SUPPORTING AND GROWING CRITICAL COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES AND OTHER EMPLOYMENT RELATED SUPPORTS. GOODWILL PROGRAMS STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES AND FAMILIES AND PROMOTE SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND DIGNITY FOR THOSE WE SERVE.
GOODWILL KEYSTONE AREA PROVIDES EDUCATION AND CAREER SERVICES, JOB PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES, POST-EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT, AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER BARRIERS TO INDEPENDENCE. INDIVIDUALS CAN ACHIEVE GREATER LEVELS OF SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND ECONOMIC SUCCESS THROUGH GOODWILL'S WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY INTEGRATION SERVICES. GOODWILL PROVIDED THESE SERVICES TO 3,637 PEOPLE. IN ADDITION, 88 INDIVIDUALS WERE EMPLOYED, MANY OF WHOM WERE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES OR HAD OTHER BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. SPECIFIC SERVICES INCLUDE ASSESSMENT, EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, EMPLOYMENT RETENTION, AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. GOODWILL PROGRAMS STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES AND FAMILIES AND PROMOTE SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND DIGNITY FOR THOSE WE SERVE.
GOODWILL KEYSTONE AREA CREATES PAID EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCES AND JOB TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER BARRIERS TO INDEPENDENCE BY PROVIDING CONTRACT WORK FOR COMMERCIAL BUSINESSES, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY PARTNERS. THESE BUSINESS SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDE A VARIETY OF WORK EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING ENVIRONMENTS IN THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS IN GOODWILL RETAIL STORES AND OFFICE.
