DONATED GOODS/RETAIL PROGRAM: GOODWILL STORES ARE THE LARGEST FUNDER FOR GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF NORTHWEST OHIO'S MISSION SERVICES. THE COLLECTION, PROCESSING, AND SALE OF DONATED GOODS, PROVIDES REVENUE NEEDED FOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS PROVIDED BY GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF NORTHWEST OHIO'S MISSION SERVICES TEAM MEMBERS. THESE PROGRAMS, WHICH SERVE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES OR BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT, INCLUDE: JOB READINESS SKILLS, TRAINING AND EDUCATION, WORK ASSESSMENT, AND LINKING PEOPLE TO JOBS. CONSIDERED MISSION INTEGRATED, STORE LOCATIONS PROVIDE SPACE FOR ON-THE-JOB TRAINING, ASSESSMENTS, AND PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES. GOODWILL OPERATES 13 BRICK AND MORTAR RETAIL STORES, AN E-COMMERCE STORE, AND 4 STANDALONE DONATION STATIONS THROUGHOUT NORTHWEST OHIO. IN 2023, TEAM MEMBERS HANDLED OVER 770,000 RETAIL TRANSACTIONS, AND SERVED OVER 340,000 DONORS. APPROXIMATELY 7 MILLION POUNDS OF MATERIAL WERE DIVERTED FROM LANDFILLS
CONTRACT SERVICES: VARIOUS CONTRACTED SERVICES PROVIDE REVENUE FOR JOB READINESS SKILLS TRAINING/EDUCATION AND WORK ASSESSMENT FOR GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF NORTHWEST OHIO'S WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT MISSION SERVICES PROGRAMS. THE MAJORITY OF CONTRACTS INCLUDE COMMERCIAL CLEANING AND COMMERCIAL LAWN CARE SERVICES. THE CONTRACTS PROVIDE SPACE FOR ON-THE-JOB TRAINING, ASSESSMENTS AND PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS. THIS DEPARTMENT HAS NEARLY 40 CONTRACTS THROUGHOUT NORTHWEST OHIO, EMPLOYS OVER 70 TEAM MEMBERS, AND IS CONSIDERED TO BE MISSION INTEGRATED.
MISSION SERVICES: GOODWILL BUILDS DIGNITY AND ENHANCES QUALITY OF LIFE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT NORTHWEST OHIO THROUGH THE POWER OF WORK BY ELIMINATING BARRIERS AND PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES. OUR MISSION SERVICES TEAM, IDENTIFIES INDIVIDUAL'S WORK INTERESTS, ABILITIES AND COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT BARRIERS RELATED TO JOB READINESS SKILLS. WE WORK WITH EACH CLIENT ONE-ON-ONE THROUGH OUR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO PROMOTE EMPLOYMENT AND FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE. IN 2023, WE PROUDLY SERVED OVER 8,000 INDIVIDUALS WITH IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, AND PLACED OVER 400 INDIVIDUALS INTO JOBS THROUGHOUT NORTHWEST OHIO. IN ORDER TO ENHANCE OUR CLIENT'S WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE, GOODWILL COLLABORATES WITH OVER 50 PARTNERS THROUGHOUT OUR 13 COUNTIES TO ENSURE WRAPAROUND SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE FOR BARRIER REMOVAL.
