ADVOCATED FOR EFFECTIVE MANGEMENT OF 245 MILLION ACRES OF PUBLIC LAND ADMINISTERED BY BLM FOR THE PUBLIC'S BENEFIT AND ENJOYMENT. PRODUCED QUARTERLY ISSUES OF NEWSLETTER "THE PUBLIC LANDS MONITOR" WITH A DISTRIBUTION TO ABOUT 1000 RECIPIENTS. PLF AND BLM RENEWED OUR MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU). PLF THEN HOSTED TWO RECEPTIONS ON BEHALF OF BLM. PLF IS ALSO PARTNERING WITH BLM ON A HISTORY PROJECT WHICH WILL INVOLVE DIGITIZING VITAL RECORDS. PROVIDED TESTIMONY ON BLM'S 2023 APPROPRIATIONS TO THE HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE AND SENATE SUBCOMMITTEE ON THE INTERIOR.


WE HELD THE 5TH BIENNIAL STUDENT CONGRESS. THE STUDENTS SPENT A WEEK ON THE BOISE STATE CAMPUS DISCUSSING WILDLAND FIRE, ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND NEXT STEPS FOR THE BLM AND USFS TO TAKE IN ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. THIS YEARS THEME ATTRACTED THE MOST APPLICANTS EVER FOR THE 25 SPOTS.


EDUCATED MEMBERS ON LAND ISSUES AND PROVIDED INFORMATION AND BOOKS TO MEMBERS ON RELATED ISSUES. HELD ANNUAL CONVENTION FOR MEMBERS TO NETWORK AND SHARE VIEWS ON BLM ISSUES. THIS YEAR'S THEME WAS E-BIKE USE.


AWARDED TWO $5,000 SCHOLARSHIPS TO COLLEGE STUDENTS EARNING DEGREES IN PUBIC LAND MANAGMENT OR RELATED FIELDS. NEITHER STUDENT HAD ANY RELATIONSHIP TO PLF BOARD MEMBERS OR ORGANIZATION MEMBERS.
