TO MOBILIZE THE VOICES OF UNITARIAN UNIVERSALISTS ACROSS THE U.S. TO EXPRESS POLICIES AND ACTIONS ALIGNED WITH UU VALUES THROUGH ENGAGEMENT, EDUCATION, AND ADVOCACY. (TO MOBILIZE AND AMPLIFY THE VOICE OF UNITARIAN UNIVERSALISTS IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION AND BEYOND AS WE SEEK TO CHANGE THE WORLD THROUGH ACTS OF LOVE AND JUSTICE).

- UUSJ SERVES AS A SOCIAL JUSTICE COORDINATOR ENABLING COLLABORATION AND COOPERATION AMONG UU CONGREGATIONS, AFFILIATED ORGANIZATIONS, AS WELL AS INDIVIDUALS ACROSS THE NATION AS PART OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT - AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC, UUSJ MAINTAINS A WEBSITE WITH INFORMATION, A CALENDAR OF EVENTS, AND LISTS OF RESOURCES FOR UU AND INTERFAITH SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVITIES. THE UUSJ WEBSITE INCLUDES LINKS TO SUCH ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS RELATED RESOURCES AND SPEAKERS. MATERIALS ARE INTENDED FOR RELATED SERVICES OR PRESENTATIONS ON CONGREGATIONAL POLICIES OR PROGRAMS REGARDING SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES AND TO INFORM THE PUBLIC OF UUSJS WORK. UUSJ HAS FOUR PRIORITY ISSUES: IMMIGRATION, ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE, ECONOMIC JUSTICE, AND A HEALTHY DEMOCRACY. - UUSJ PUBLISHES A MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER AND PERIODIC ALERTS HIGHLIGHTING SOCIAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS, INITIATIVES, AND OPPORTUNITIES, PARTICULARLY THOSE OF MEMBER CONGREGATIONS AND INTERFAITH ACTIVITIES. UUSJ HOLDS PERIODIC AWARDS CEREMONIES TO HONOR RECOGNIZED UU SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVISTS IN THE COMMUNITY.
OUR ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO HELP PREPARE UU CONGREGATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS TO ACHIEVE A JUST, COMPASSIONATE, AND SUSTAINABLE WORLD COMMUNITY AND TO BE ABLE TO CONDUCT MORE POWERFUL EFFORTS AND INCREASE UU VISIBILITY IN THE PUBLIC ARENA ON MATTERS OF SOCIAL JUSTICE CONCERN, REFLECTING OUR PRINCIPLES AND SOURCES. TO THAT END: * PLANNED THE CELEBRATION OF OUR SOCIAL JUSTICE AWARDS GALA AND OUR SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVIST ROUNDTABLE * CONTINUED THE UUSJ CAPITOL HILL ADVOCACY CORPS. THROUGH A FOURTH YEAR, INTO THE START OF A FIFTH * CONTINUED DEVELOPING THE WRITE HERE WRITE NOW LETTER-WRITING PROGRAM AND PRINCIPLED CONCERN ACTION ALERT OFFERINGS AS AN ONGOING EFFORT * CONDUCTED VIRTUAL WEBINARS, BRIEFINGS, AND TRAINING TO BUILD SKILLS PERTINENT TO ACTIVITY ON OUR PRIORITIES AND BUILD AWARENESS * BUILT RELATIONSHIPS WITH UU AND NON-UU ORGANIZATIONS ON VARIOUS INITIATIVES SUPPORTING IMMIGRATION, SOCIAL SAFETY NET, AND CLIMATE ISSUES * CONTINUED OPERATING UNDER A FORMAL COVENANT WITH THE COALITION OF UU STATE ACTION NETWORKS TO FOSTER COLLABORATION AND SUPPORT * CONTINUED ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OUR 2018 ENDORSEMENT OF THE POOR PEOPLE'S CAMPAIGN: A NATIONAL CALL FOR MORAL REVIVAL
