THE FRENCH-AMERICAN CULTURAL FOUNDATION EXTENDED, EXPANDED AND FURTHERED OUR MISSION OF PROMOTING THE FRENCH-AMERICAN RELATIONSHIP THROUGH PROGRAMMING WITH PROMINENT INSTITUTIONS SUCH AS CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES, INSTITUT MARIE CURIE, INSTITUT PAUL BOCUSE, THE MUSEE DES ARTS DECORATIFS, MUSEE NATIONAL DE LA MARINE, THE HOUSTON BALLET, MERIDIAN INTERNATIONAL CENTER, THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF WOMEN IN THE ARTS, THE EMBASSY OF FRANCE, THE US EMBASSY IN PARIS, THE US DEPARTMENT OF STATE, AMERICAN LIBRARY IN PARIS AND MOUNT VERNON AMONG OTHERS. THE YEAR'S WORK AND PROGRAMS ENTAILED WORKING WITH EXISTING PARTNERSHIPS, IDENTIFYING NEW PARTNERS AND ELEVATING THE FOUNDATION'S WORK WITH THE EMBASSY OF FRANCE TO ALLOW FOR BROADENING OF OUR AUDIENCES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ATLANTIC. WE EXECUTED AN IN-PERSON AND ONLINE SYMPOSIUM CUISINE AS DIPLOMACY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE CHIEF OF PROTOCOL, CHIEF CURATOR OF VERSAILLES BERTRAND RONDOT, HISTORIAN LIBBY O'CONNELL. WE SUPPORTED PUBLICATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE BOOK, SOUVENIRS OF THE RIVIERA BY CLARICE SMITH AND DAVID BRUCE SMITH. THE BOOK PROJECT LINKED US TO MAJOR U.S. ART AND HISTORIC INSTITUTIONS WITH ENDORSEMENTS AS REFERENCED ON OUR WEBSITE. ALSO, OUR EFFORTS IN FRANCE EXPANDED WITH A BOARD VISIT TO INSTITUT BOCUSE TO LEARN OF, SO TO ADVANCE, THEIR RESEARCH REGARDING NUTRITION AND CANCER. WORKING WITH OUR 20 FRANCE BASED PARTNERS, AND 23 U.S. PARTNERS, WE IDENTIFY AND THEN DEVELOP PROGRAM CONTENT. OUR ONGOING PROJECTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: SAVOIR FAIRE AND INNOVATION, CUISINE AS SCIENCE, LAFAYETTE - THE MAN, MYTH, ADVENTURE, INSTITUT CURIE FUTURE DISCOVERIES IN BIOLOGY AND CHEMISTRY TO TREAT METASTATIC CANCERS. THE VERSAILLES RELATIONSHIP DEEPENED AS WE AIDED THEM TO EXPAND THE NUMBERS OF AMERICAN SUPPORTERS AND AUDIENCE BY PARTICIPATION IN 2 TRIPS IN APRIL AND OCTOBER OF 2022.
